ChatGPT expands integration with automation platforms.
The recent evolution of ChatGPT’s connectors has transformed how automation platforms operate, enabling faster workflows, cross-platform integrations, and secure data flows. Through updated support for Zapier, Make, Microsoft Power Automate, and OpenAI’s Workflow Builder, ChatGPT now allows businesses and individuals to orchestrate complex tasks using a single conversational interface.
Zapier integration brings streamlined automation.
Zapier remains one of the most widely used platforms for connecting ChatGPT with thousands of apps. The latest updates introduce support for GPTs OAuth authentication, inline prompt testing, and expanded action sets. Users can create automation pipelines where ChatGPT handles text generation, classification, content moderation, and image creation directly inside Zapier workflows.
Key improvements in Zapier’s ChatGPT connector:
The new AI Actions beta expands Zapier’s role by allowing declarative workflows—tasks can now chain ChatGPT outputs into other apps with reduced custom coding, improving productivity and cutting latency.
Make introduces streaming and enhanced file support.
Make (formerly Integromat) strengthens ChatGPT integrations by supporting advanced modules for completions, embeddings, and automated responses. Its most recent update introduces streaming mode and raises the file upload limit to 30 MB within the Assistants API, unlocking wider possibilities for handling structured and unstructured documents.
This flexibility is especially useful for businesses integrating ChatGPT into large-scale automation scenarios involving bulk data transformations or cross-app orchestration.
Power Automate introduces deeper enterprise controls.
Microsoft Power Automate provides one of the most comprehensive integrations for ChatGPT, combining secure data routing with automation flexibility. The OpenAI connector, which became generally available in mid-2025, now includes prompt context caching and endpoint filtering to improve enterprise-grade governance.
With the integration of Power BI Copilot, natural-language queries can flow directly to ChatGPT, enabling dynamic reporting and real-time business intelligence.
Workflow Builder accelerates native orchestration.
OpenAI has introduced Workflow Builder, currently in private alpha, designed to eliminate the dependency on third-party automation tools. It offers a drag-and-drop interface where users can configure pipelines involving prompts, parsing logic, webhooks, and notifications without writing code.
This positions ChatGPT as a central hub for customized business process automation, reducing reliance on separate integrations for basic operations.
Comparing automation platform capabilities.
Enhanced security and governance across integrations.
Data security has become a central consideration for ChatGPT-based automations. Since January 2025, OpenAI’s connectors—including Zapier, Make, and Power Automate—operate under a no-train data policy by default. For enterprises, Power Automate and Make provide additional control by enabling regional routing, ensuring prompt and response data stay within predefined regulatory zones.
Detailed logging for latency, token usage, and workflow-level audit trails is now available across all platforms, offering full transparency over AI-powered automations.
