ChatGPT pricing in 2026 is split across personal plans, Business seat types, Enterprise contracts, and a separate API billing system. The headline price alone no longer describes the full cost structure.

Free remains a permanent $0 plan. Plus remains $20 per month. Pro now has $100 and $200 usage levels, although new sign-ups and upgrades to the $200 tier have been temporarily paused since September 10, 2026. Business uses Standard and Premium seats, while Enterprise pricing is negotiated.

CURRENT PRICING — THE PLAN LADDER NOW

The personal ladder starts with Free and Go, moves to Plus, and then reaches the two Pro usage levels. Product features and model access can change independently from billing price, so pricing and capability should be compared separately.

Go is not assigned one universal dollar figure here because OpenAI localizes billing in some markets and directs users to the current pricing or checkout page for the applicable rate.

··········

FREE AND GO — LOW-COST ACCESS

Free costs nothing and now centers on GPT-5.6 Luna for everyday text use, with separate limits on tools such as uploads, images, research, memory, and other higher-cost features.

Go adds higher allowances and longer memory while remaining below Plus. It is available across ChatGPT-supported countries, but its billing amount can vary with local pricing and currency.

··········

PLUS — THE $20 ADVANCED INDIVIDUAL TIER

Plus is $20 per month and is the main individual tier for advanced reasoning access. It includes broader model and tool access than Free or Go, but the subscription does not create API credits and does not cover API consumption.

For users who mainly work inside ChatGPT rather than through programmatic API calls, Plus behaves like a flat monthly product subscription rather than a prepaid token balance.

··········

PRO — $100 AVAILABLE, $200 TEMPORARILY PAUSED FOR NEW USERS

OpenAI now distinguishes a $100 Pro tier from the higher-usage $200 Pro tier. The $100 tier remains purchasable, while new sign-ups and upgrades to the $200 tier have been temporarily paused since September 10, 2026.

Existing $200 subscribers can continue on that plan. A user who cancels or downgrades from $200 during the pause cannot simply buy it back until enrollment reopens.

··········

BUSINESS — STANDARD AND PREMIUM SEATS

Business Standard costs $25 per user with monthly billing or an effective $20 per user per month on annual billing. Premium costs $125 monthly or an effective $100 per month when billed annually.

The workspace requires at least two paid seats and can mix Standard and Premium seats, which makes Business pricing a seat-composition problem rather than one flat company subscription.

··········

ENTERPRISE AND API — DIFFERENT BILLING SYSTEMS

Enterprise is contract-based and adds organization-level deployment, security, administration, and model-access controls. Its economics depend on the negotiated agreement rather than a public individual monthly price.

The API is a separate product. Paying for Plus, Pro, Business, or Enterprise ChatGPT access should not be interpreted as purchasing a pool of API tokens unless the relevant contract explicitly says so.

DATA STUDIOS COST NORMALIZATION — MONTHLY VS ANNUAL ECONOMICS

DS calculation: a Business Standard seat costs $300 per year if paid monthly ($25 × 12) versus $240 on annual billing ($20 × 12), a $60 or 20% reduction.

A Premium seat costs $1,500 per year on monthly billing versus $1,200 on annual billing, also a 20% reduction. With the two-seat minimum, two Standard seats imply $600 per year on monthly billing or $480 per year on annual billing.

The clean comparison is annual cash cost plus the model and tool access the buyer actually needs.
