Claude Opus 4.6 pricing in 2026: API costs, cache, batch, cloud access, and Opus 5 migration

Claude Opus 4.6 still costs $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens on the Claude API. The important 2026 change is that it is now an active legacy model and Opus 5 offers the same base token price as the recommended successor.
The economics therefore depend less on a headline price increase and more on caching, batch processing, cloud routing, workload shape, and the cost of keeping an older model in production.

Anthropic continues to list Opus 4.6 at $5 input and $25 output per million tokens. The model is active legacy rather than retired, so existing API workloads can still incur these rates.
