Grok Pricing 2026: Free, $8 Plus, $30 Premium, $100 Super, $200 Ultra
Updated: 11 hours ago

Updated: November 2, 2026
Grok costs $0, $8, $30, $100 or $200 a month for new customers, because xAI now sells Grok through The X Subscription, a single plan family that combines Grok, Cursor and X benefits. The five individual tiers are Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra, and the paid tiers can also be bought yearly for $80, $300, $1,000 and $2,000. Grok Bot, the agent product, is included only from Premium upward.
The X Subscription opened to new customers on October 12, 2026, and replaced SuperGrok, Cursor plans and X Premium as the default way to pay for Grok. Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers keep their plan, price and features unless they decide to switch, so two price lists now coexist: the new one for new customers and the legacy one for people who subscribed earlier. The table below shows the official list prices as published on xAI's pricing documentation on November 2, 2026, excluding sales tax.
........
Plan | Monthly price | Annual price | Annual, per month | Included usage | Grok Bot |
Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | Limited | No |
Plus | $8 | $80 | $7 | Base (1x) | No |
Premium | $30 | $300 | $25 | 4x Plus | Yes |
Super | $100 | $1,000 | $84 | 15x Plus | Yes |
Ultra | $200 | $2,000 | $167 | 50x Plus | Yes |
........
Usage on the paid tiers is expressed as a multiple of the Plus allowance, and xAI does not publish the absolute size of any allowance in messages, tokens or tasks. The comparison table, the cost calculations and the team prices further down all use only these official figures.

GROK PLANS ON THE X SUBSCRIPTION AND WHAT EACH TIER INCLUDES.
Free costs nothing and gives daily Grok access, a starter allowance for Cursor's coding agents and standard X access, with usage that xAI describes as limited. It is the tier for occasional questions, real-time web and X search, and voice mode, and it does not include Grok Bot.
Plus at $8 a month is the entry paid tier. According to xAI's announcement, it adds more AI usage in Grok and Cursor together with a checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads on X. Its allowance is the base unit that the higher tiers are measured against, and Plus does not include Grok Bot. Plus is sold only to individuals and is not available for teams.
Premium at $30 a month is the first tier with Grok Bot. xAI says it includes the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, three subscriptions that the company says previously cost $90 a month combined, and it carries four times the Plus usage. Premium is also the first tier where third-party models such as Claude or GPT remain available inside Cursor, although those models are billed separately from the first request.
Super at $100 a month and Ultra at $200 a month include everything in Premium and change only the size of the allowance, at 15 times and 50 times the Plus usage. They are aimed at people who use Grok Bot or Grok inside Cursor for long working sessions and run out of a Premium allowance before the week ends.
xAI states that each X Subscription plan includes at least twice the coding usage with Grok models that the comparable Cursor plan offered, and that each new tier gives more usage per dollar than the plan it replaces. Those are company statements; xAI does not publish the underlying allowances that would let readers check them independently.

GROK TEAM SEATS, ENTERPRISE CONTRACTS AND LEGACY SUPERGROK PLANS.
Teams can buy Premium, Super and Ultra seats at the same $30, $100 and $200 per seat as the individual tiers, and each seat receives the same usage as the matching individual plan. A team can mix tiers, for example three Premium seats and one Super seat, which costs $190 a month at list prices. Team plans add centralized billing and administration, usage analytics and seat-tier mixing, and members receive X benefits by connecting their own X account. Seats do not share their weekly pools, but the team shares one prepaid balance for usage beyond the pools.
Enterprise pricing is not published. xAI's pricing page asks enterprise buyers to contact sales for custom rate limits, dedicated infrastructure, SSO, compliance features and volume discounts, and enterprise limits follow the contract and the admin settings.
xAI's older Grok pricing page is still online and still lists Grok Free at $0 and SuperGrok at $30 a month, with SuperGrok Lite, SuperGrok Heavy and Business named in its comparison table without prices. These plans continue for people who already have them. Customers who have not switched keep their current billing, and switching to The X Subscription is optional. Earlier prices for SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy and the old X Premium tiers are not shown on xAI's current official pages, so they are left out of this guide; legacy subscribers can see their own price in their billing settings.

GROK USAGE LIMITS, THE SHARED WEEKLY POOL AND EXTRA USAGE CREDITS.
Each paid seat on The X Subscription receives one weekly pool for eligible first-party usage, shared across the Grok apps, the Grok tab on X, Cursor and Grok Bot rather than split into separate quotas. Usage rates differ by product, so a heavy week of Grok Bot tasks leaves less for Grok models inside Cursor and in the Grok apps. xAI does not publish a common reset day; each account's live usage view shows its own next reset date, which is why two subscribers can see different reset dates.
Third-party models in Cursor never draw from the included pool. They are paid from prepaid credit from the first use, at API list prices, and first-party usage beyond the weekly pool is paid from the same credit. Extra usage is managed at grok.com/dashboard, where subscribers can buy credit, turn Auto Top-up on or off and set a monthly limit for additional usage. Auto Top-up stays off unless the subscriber enables it, but the monthly additional-usage limit is unset by default, which means there is no spending cap until the subscriber sets one. Adding credit does not raise that cap.
The Grok apps FAQ adds that credit can be bought from as little as $5 on the web, that extra usage credits can currently be bought only on the web, and that top-up credits expire one year after purchase unless stated otherwise. It also states that free-tier limits on Chat and Voice run on their own schedule, separate from the paid weekly pool. Our guide to Grok usage limits, the weekly pool and extra credits covers reset behavior and the free-tier caps in more detail.
Grok Bot subscribers reported over the weekend of November 1 that their weekly meters were emptying much faster than usual, and Elon Musk wrote on X that the cost of serving Grok Bot had been unsustainably high relative to revenue. As of November 2, xAI has not changed the prices or multiples on its official pricing pages, and it has not said whether the pools were reduced. Our report on Grok Bot usage limits and Musk's cost remarks follows that story.

GROK ANNUAL BILLING AND COST PER UNIT OF USAGE COMPARED.
Annual billing saves the same share on every paid tier. Twelve monthly payments of $8, $30, $100 and $200 add up to $96, $360, $1,200 and $2,400, against annual prices of $80, $300, $1,000 and $2,000, so the yearly plan is 16.7% cheaper in each case. The table also divides each price by its usage multiple, using the Plus allowance as the unit, which shows how much cheaper a unit of included usage becomes on the larger tiers. These are Data Studios calculations from the official prices and multiples, and they assume the full allowance is used every week.
........
Plan | 12 monthly payments | Annual plan | Annual saving | Monthly price per 1x usage | Annual price per 1x usage, per month |
Plus | $96 | $80 | $16 | $8.00 | $6.67 |
Premium | $360 | $300 | $60 | $7.50 | $6.25 |
Super | $1,200 | $1,000 | $200 | $6.67 | $5.56 |
Ultra | $2,400 | $2,000 | $400 | $4.00 | $3.33 |
........
On these figures Ultra costs 6.7 times as much as Premium for 12.5 times the included usage, while Super costs 3.3 times as much for 3.75 times the usage. A user who stays well within a Premium allowance gains nothing from the lower unit price of Super or Ultra, because that price advantage exists only when the larger allowance is actually used. The Grok apps FAQ itself recommends upgrading over buying credits for regular heavy use, since extra usage is charged at standard rates and costs more per action than included usage.

HOW TO CHOOSE A GROK PLAN AND CHECK WHAT YOU PAY.
The cheapest suitable tier depends on whether Grok Bot is needed and how often the weekly pool runs out. Grok Free is enough for casual chat and search. Plus at $8 suits people who want more Grok and Cursor usage plus the X checkmark and fewer ads, without the agent. Premium at $30 is the minimum for Grok Bot and the natural replacement for an old SuperGrok or X Premium+ subscription. Super and Ultra make sense only for users who already exhaust a Premium pool well before the reset.
........
User need | Starting plan | Monthly list price |
Occasional chat, search and voice | Free | $0 |
More Grok usage and X creator features, no agent | Plus | $8 |
Grok Bot and Cursor with Grok models | Premium | $30 |
Premium pool runs out before the weekly reset | Super | $100 |
Daily long agent and coding sessions | Ultra | $200 |
........
Before paying, check the live checkout for local taxes, because list prices exclude sales tax, and look for limited-time switching offers in billing settings if you hold a legacy plan. A subscriber who switches gets the old plan cancelled with a prorated refund to the original payment method, while the new plan is charged in full at once; Cursor bought through the Apple App Store must be cancelled and refunded through Apple. Current trial offers are covered in our guide to Grok free trials and the free plan.

GROK PRICING IN NOVEMBER 2026: CONFIRMED PLANS AND OPEN POINTS.
The confirmed structure is simple. New customers choose between Free, Plus at $8, Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200 a month, or the yearly equivalents of $80, $300, $1,000 and $2,000, all before sales tax. Grok Bot starts at Premium, team seats cost the same as individual tiers from Premium upward, and enterprise prices are negotiated. Legacy SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium plans stay in place for existing subscribers until they change them.
What xAI does not publish is the absolute size of the weekly pools, so the 4x, 15x and 50x multiples compare tiers with one another without saying how many tasks or messages any of them buys. The Grok Bot usage complaints of early November and Musk's comment on serving costs leave open whether those pools will stay where they are, which makes the spending cap in the billing dashboard the most useful setting for anyone paying for extra usage.
