All Claude AI models available in 2025: full list for web, app, API, and cloud platforms

ree

Claude’s model ecosystem now spans Sonnet, Opus, and Haiku variants across Anthropic’s platform and major cloud providers.

As of August 2025, Anthropic’s Claude AI family includes a growing set of proprietary models that power web and app conversations, API integrations, and enterprise deployments through Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud Vertex AI. From lightweight assistants to reasoning-optimized models, Claude now offers a modular lineup aligned with different performance needs and pricing tiers.

Here we present a full breakdown of all Claude models currently available, along with their exact names, deployment methods, version IDs, and lifecycle status.

Claude web and mobile apps support Sonnet 4 and Opus 4.1.

The official Claude interface at claude.ai — also accessible via mobile browsers and native apps — currently supports two primary models for end users:

● Claude Sonnet 4

Released on May 22, 2025, this model is now the default for most users, including those on the free plan. Sonnet 4 is faster and more context-aware than previous Sonnet 3.x versions and offers strong performance across conversation, summarization, and document-based tasks.

● Claude Opus 4.1

Released on August 5, 2025, Opus 4.1 is the most powerful Claude model to date. It improves upon Claude 4.0 Opus with better code generation, search reasoning, and instruction adherence. Available to Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users, it also powers the advanced workspace Claude Code.

Legacy users may still see Claude Sonnet 3.7 as a selectable option in limited configurations, though it has been largely replaced by the newer Sonnet 4 release.

Claude API access supports full versioned control via model IDs.

Anthropic’s developer API supports Claude models with precise snapshot identifiers for reproducibility and version control. These models are also available through Amazon Bedrock and Google Vertex AI using platform-specific IDs. Below is the full list of Claude API-accessible models as of August 2025:

These model identifiers are required when configuring Claude API sessions and can also be used in SDKs for task routing. Every model offers a default snapshot for consistent behavior across deployments.

Claude models are also accessible via Amazon Bedrock and Google Vertex AI.

Anthropic has partnered with both Amazon and Google to make Claude models available in major cloud AI ecosystems. These platforms expose the same versioned models as the Claude API, under platform-specific identifiers:

These integrations allow enterprise clients to deploy Claude models at scale, with full security, observability, and quota management through Bedrock or Vertex AI.

Some Claude models are deprecated or retired in 2025.

Anthropic has started deprecating older Claude 3.x models to focus on the Claude 4.x family. Key lifecycle updates include:

  • Claude 3 Opus (2024-02-29) was deprecated on June 30, 2025, and will be retired by January 5, 2026. Migration to Opus 4.1 is recommended.

  • Claude 3 Sonnet (2024-02-29) and Claude 2.1 were fully retired on July 21, 2025 and are no longer supported.

  • All Claude 4.x models (Sonnet 4 and Opus 4.1) are marked as General Availability (GA) across platforms and are actively maintained.

Choosing the right Claude model depends on use case, plan, and platform.

With multiple tiers and endpoints available, selecting the correct Claude model depends on access level and task type. Here’s a simplified guide:

  • For free or general-purpose users → Claude Sonnet 4 on claude.ai

  • For complex code tasks, research, reasoning → Claude Opus 4.1 (Pro or higher)

  • For low-cost summarization or fast completions → Claude Haiku 3.5 via API

  • For enterprise deployment with cloud tooling → use Claude 4.x models via Bedrock or Vertex AI

All Claude 4.x models support large context windows (up to 200k tokens), long-document processing, PDF upload via UI, and stable API behavior. Anthropic's focus in 2025 is on improving transparency, controllability, and reasoning performance, making Claude a leading option for research, enterprise, and development teams.
