Stella Free vs Starter vs Pro vs Elite: all available models and plans today, practical features, AI differences, and real platform limits

Today Stella AI offers four distinct plans, each corresponding to four concretely different AI assistant modes.

The Stella AI platform stands out for its tiered structure, designed to meet needs ranging from simple personal organization tasks to advanced automation for professionals and power users. Users can choose between Stella Free, Starter, Pro, and Elite, selecting the most suitable level without having to install anything: conversations happen on WhatsApp, iMessage, or the web app, with instant onboarding and no technical barriers. Each plan not only changes the monthly request cap and available features, but also routes prompts to different LLM models, choosing each time the most efficient and advanced combination.

Stella Free is the entry point for those wanting to test the assistant with no commitment and limited resources.

The Free plan from Stella AI offers 15 requests per month, with no need to enter a credit card or sensitive data. This mode aims to let users explore the Stella ecosystem, enabling basic features such as appointment management, reminders, voice notes converted to text, mini AI searches, and email drafting.

Technically, all requests are handled by the internal “Stella Core” version, a fine-tuned LLM based on Mistral 7B, self-hosted to keep costs and latency very low. There are no advanced vision features, extended memory, or access to premium models. The result is a streamlined experience, suitable for organizing your day or trying out AI for the first time with zero risk.

Stella Starter increases capacity and introduces vision and longer prompts at an affordable price.

With the Starter plan, costing $10/month, users get 100 monthly requests and can work with longer conversations. The routing infrastructure directs prompts to Mixtral 8×7B or Gemini Pro for more complex queries, ensuring greater coherence and higher quality output.

From this tier on, it becomes possible to send images for visual analysis (by whitelist), maintain longer threads, and use advanced reminder functions. Starter is ideal for those who want to go beyond the Free mode’s limits without committing to professional-level volumes.

Stella Pro brings the AI experience to a professional level, with more requests, multiple emails, and top-tier models.

By choosing the Pro plan ($20/month), the cap rises to 250 monthly requests and users can connect up to three email accounts, plus gain access to premium models for more complex conversations. In this tier, Stella uses a “smart-router” logic that selects GPT-4o or Claude Sonnet 4 whenever a prompt exceeds certain length or complexity thresholds, while keeping Mixtral for faster tasks. Pro is the natural choice for freelancers, professionals, small teams, or anyone needing constant flows between email, notes, event management, and content generation. The context window extends up to 32k tokens when needed, making it possible to work on complex texts without losing references between steps.

Stella Elite removes limits and unlocks the full potential of all integrated LLMs.

The Elite plan ($30/month) is the “all-inclusive” solution for power users, agencies, solopreneurs, and teams needing limitless automation. Here, the number of requests is unlimited, as is the ability to connect any number of email accounts and cloud archives. Any prompt that exceeds thresholds of length, complexity, or demands top-level output is routed in real time to Mixtral 8×22B, Claude Opus 4, or GPT-4.1, with no practical limits on context window (up to 200k tokens when Claude Opus is invoked). The routing structure lets you alternate between engines depending on the task type, keeping Mistral for lighter, quicker requests, and using premium models only when necessary. Elite also provides early access to new integrations and advanced API management, making it one of the most flexible and scalable offerings among all personal AI chatbots available on the market.

All Stella AI models share advanced productivity features, but differ in context window, routing, and response speed.

Regardless of the chosen plan, users can always count on features like event management, email drafting, reminders, to-do lists with notifications, voice notes converted to text, and integrated AI searches. The key difference lies in the context window (from 8k tokens on Free and Starter, to 32k on Pro, up to 200k on Elite), in response times (shorter for simple requests, longer for multi-LLM prompts), and in the ability to process images starting from Starter. All plans are natively multilingual (over 50 languages), while vision functions are activated on request and are being extended to all major integrated platforms.

The Stella architecture revolves around Mixture-of-Experts, dynamic routing, and flexible use of open and closed-weight models.

Stella AI’s true strength is its intelligent orchestration console, routing each request to the most cost-effective and efficient model, choosing in real time between OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Mistral, and even Grok for X searches.

The infrastructure uses open-weight models on proprietary GPUs (A100/H100) for fast tasks, while for complex or long tasks it leverages big player APIs, auto-scaling without ever exceeding user-set latency caps. This system keeps Stella competitive in both speed and costs, offering a unique solution perfectly adaptable to any personal or business workflow.
